Term:  Income Tax

Income Tax—at death, certain property is treated as income for tax purposes by the Canadian Revenue Agency CRA. Property is deemed disposed of at fair market value and taxed even if no proceeds are received. Registered retirement savings plans, registered retirement income funds and second properties can also be treated as income tax unless qualifying for tax rollovers apply.
