- Your lawyer has reviewed with you all legal research on the merits of your case.
- You and your lawyer are familiar with the points of law that are in your favour and those against your position.
- You have obtained information and records from hospitals, doctors, witnesses, and statements and lawyers’ files.
- You’ve assessed the merits of your case to develop a strategy for success.
- You have a valuation of assets that are in dispute.
- You have an estimate or idea of what it will cost to continue fighting in court.
- You have developed a just offer and counteroffer strategy.
- You have set realistic expectations for compromise.
- You plan to stick to your agenda.
- You are flexible and believe the process can work in your favour.
