“Help Me, I’m an Executor”

When a client calls and makes this request, what do you say?

Giving your client an executor checklist is of limited benefit. It is also a tactical mistake. What your client really needs is a strategy to help them.

That’s why I wrote Executor Kung Fu: Master Any Estate in Three Easy Steps – to provide a simple, three-step process to handle any estate.

Executor Kung Fu teaches executors how to protect assets, probate the will, and pay everyone.

This sequence is important. It also keeps executors from feeling overwhelmed, and focus on the tasks they need to accomplish. These tasks can take 6, 12, 18 months, or more.

Executors Are at Risk

Our world is increasingly complex.

Executors who are fiduciaries can quickly find themselves in trouble.

You cannot assume that your client will visit the right tax, legal or financial advisor. Will that advisor have enough experience in dealing with estate administration?

Will they be able to keep your client out of trouble?

Executors do not have the experience or training to deal with estate disputes. They do, however, need to be coached.

You can be an important resource for your executor clients. You can help them understand their legal obligations. I invite you to read my book, Executor Kung Fu: Master Any Estate in Three Easy Steps. It’s now available for purchase in an instantly-downloadable version.
